Stock Cubes

The use of stock cubes along with water is a perfectly satisfactory alternative to homemade stock. According to the quantity of water in the recipe, use the stock cubes as directed on the packet. In most recipes chicken stock cubes should be used, as their milder flavour does not dominate other ingredients.
