  • About
I moved to New York City a few weeks shy of my tenth birthday. It was a strange new world with no yards to play, no trees to climb, and no space to be free like in my home country of Trinidad. Nonetheless, I loved every minute of discovering the city.
School was a little tough in the beginning. I had such a heavy accent that the teachers advised me to watch the news to learn proper pronunciation. I also had to figure out what clothes to wear since all I ever wore to school in Trinidad was a uniform, and since I was not accustomed to a full range of seasons.
