For the most part, the equipment for cooking carrots is that found in any modern kitchen. In some cases, the tools and equipment you have may hinder you without you knowing it. Often, the older designs for tools were better than newer designs. Many so-called improvements have been made to induce customers to purchase a newer version of something that they already had. For example, many of the modern whisk designs do not work as well as the wooden-handled whisks of fifty years ago. The original, handle-less, Microplane-brand grater worked great. The newer version with handles in twelve colours is not an improvement, and aspects of the newer designs make working with the grater more difficult.
