Monica Martinez Launched Don Bugito in 2011 at the San Francisco Street Food Festival, Serving up Mealworm Tacos and Cricket-Covered Ice Cream. She had a line all day.
Launched as a packaged product in 2014, Don Bugito’s Line of edible insects was one of the first in the world.
Her Kickstarter was supported by René Redzepi, and in 2017 Monica opened the First urban edible insect farm (Non-Gmo and Organic) in West Oakland.
