As you plan your weekly meals and make a shopping list, always check your pantry to make sure that you have all the ingredients you’ll need and that you don’t buy something you already have.
Rotate items as you remove them, moving the oldest ones to the front of the pantry so they will be used first. Be sure to discard any item that has passed its expiration date and replace it if needed.
When you run out of an item, immediately note it on your shopping list so that you remember to replace it.
