  • About
Soak the eggs overnight in a weak solution of vinegar and water which makes them easier to paint. Make a tiny hole at either end of the egg. Blow slowly and steadily until the yolk emerges. Rinse, dry and decorate. They may be simply painted with felt-tipped pens, acrylic or water colours, or they may have tiny beads, dried flowers, shells, sequins, lace etc glued on. They may be varnished, or they may have one side removed (with a razor blade) and used as tiny hanging windows with a chicken inside or a flower or a sweet. To hang the eggs, tie a short matchstick to a piece of cotton and insert the matchstick in one end of the egg.
