Camellia Panjabi was born in Mumbai. She read Economic in Cambridge (UK) and went on to become Marketing Director of the prestigious Taj hotels spread all over India. She was known for spearheading new cuisines, culinary ideas and introducing Indian regional cuisine restaurants. In 2001 she joined her sister and brother‐in‐law’s restaurant company in London to help create the finest group of Indian restaurants there. They include Amaya the trendsetting Indian grill, the fashionable Chutney Mary at its new location in St. James, Veeraswamy celebrating it’s 90th anniversary and the group of popular Masala Zone restaurants. The cookbook “50 Great Curries of India” has sold 1.5 million copies in 7 languages.
