  • 1 lb. cooking apples
  • castor sugar
  • deep fat
  • coating batter
  • lemon ju

Method

Peel the apples, core them with an apple corer and cut into rings about ¼ in. thick. Put the apple rings on to a plate and sprinkle with lemon juice and sugar. Let them stand for a few minutes. Using a skewer, dip them into the batter, then drop them into deep fat which should just be beginning to haze
