  • About

ORIGINATING IN THE SOUTH AMERICAN ANDES NEAR MODERN-DAY PERU, TOMATOES ARE THE FRUIT OF THE TOMATO PLANT. BOTANICALLY THEY’RE CLASSIFIED AS A FRUIT AND NOT A VEGETABLE BECAUSE THEY HAVE SEEDS AND GROW FROM A FLOWERING PLANT. BUT WHATEVER YOU CALL THEM, TOMATOES ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF MEDITERRANEAN CUISINE. STUFFED TOMATOES ARE EITHER SERVED ON THEIR OWN AS A STARTER OR AS PART OF A LARGER SPREAD WITH OTHER MEZE.
