Good Old Cheese Scone

It might surprise you that one of the longest recipes is for a plain old cheese scone, but the truth is that scones can be tricky. This method works for us every time. To be honest, I’m pretty sure the recipe started out as a sweet scone recipe from way before I was a baker. We adapted it to make it savoury and it’s been tweaked over the years bit by bit till it ended up as this. We very rarely make plain cheese scones but use this recipe as a great base for lots of other savoury additions.
