This is a showstopper dessert for an autumn or winter party. The crumbly shortcrust pastry crust contrasts perfectly with the rich chestnut and chocolate fillings, which form elegant layers when the tart is cut. Fresh chestnuts are readily available from October through to January, the best time to enjoy this type of dessert. You may substitute peeled chestnuts that come in a jar or tin, but they tend to be really expensive.
