This is my favorite dough to use for so many different breads. It is more heavily enriched with butter, eggs, and sugar, which makes for a very soft dough. I use it for dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, and any other sweet-filled breads I want to make. It creates a soft and fluffy bread that is still slightly chewy.


  • 7 grams (1 package, teaspoon) active dry or instant yeast


  1. Warm the milk to about 110–115°F/43–46°C. In a large mixing bowl, add the warm milk, the yeast, and ½ teaspoon of sugar and stir to combine. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until you see some bubbles and foaming.
  2. Add 480 grams (4 cups) of flour and the rest of the sugar, salt, butter, and eggs to the mixing bowl. Use clean hands to mix together until a sticky dough fo
