Let’s braai something straight out of Chinatown. It’s easy! All you need are a few Chinese grocery items. They last forever in the grocery cupboard.

Ingredients

  • 2 pork fillets (400 to 450 g each)
  • 15 ml 5 spice powder

Method

Grate the ginger and squeeze out the juice in a non-metallic dish. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir. Trim any excess fat and membrane from the pork fillet. Add to the marinade, coat and marinate for a maximum of 2 hours (due to the high salt content – we don’t want any tough pork fillet).
