This dessert of caramelized bread with a creamy filling topped with finely ground pistachios is a unique version of bread pudding very popular in Lebanon and countries throughout the Middle East. It makes for a great centerpiece dessert when entertaining larger groups. Offer it with a platter of fresh fruit and Turkish coffee.
It can be prepared early in the day. Serve the same day as described.
