A burnished golden bannock with all the festive style of an old symbolic sunworshipper’s celebration bannock.

  • 500 g (1 lb 2 oz) strong plain flour

Mixing and Rising

Sift the flour into a bowl and add the sugar (add the Fast Action yeast now if using). If using fresh yeast, dissolve in a little of the warm milk. Melt the butter and add to the warm milk.
