Blueberries grow in abundance in the United States, and now, happily, are cultivated here in the West Country. They are available in July and August and are a real treat to look forward to. In this pie the combination of the rich purple filling contained between two layers of golden pastry is irresistibly good. Serve warm or cold and, for an extra-special treat, with vanilla ice cream.
