  • 5 cooking apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 100 g ( oz) unsalted butter

Method

  1. Put the apples in a saucepan with 1 tablespoon of the butter, 1 tablespoon of the brown sugar and the lemon zest, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cook over medium heat for 10–15 minutes, or until the apples are very soft.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F/Gas 4)
