Wholemeal Scones


  • ¾ lb. (360 g.) wholemeal flour
  • 1 saltspoon salt
  • 2 oz. (60 g.) butter
  • 1 oz. (30 g.) caster sugar
  • 4 tablespoons milk and water mixed


Mix the salt and flour. Rub in the butter, stir in the sugar and add the water and milk to make a stiff dough. Knead this for a few minutes. Roll out, form into scones and bake on hot tins in a good oven for about 20 minutes at 425° F., gas mark 7.
