Cottage cheese imparts its flavor to this tasty country-kitchen pie


  • Baked 9" Graham Cracker Crumb Crust
  • 2 c. creamed cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • c. sugar
  • ¼ c. dairy sour or sweet cream
  • 2 tblsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. grated lemon peel
  • 1 tblsp. lemon juice
  • 1 c. chopped dates
  • 4 tblsp. chopped walnuts


  • Beat cottage cheese in electric mixer until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until well blended. Add sugar, cream, flour, lemon peel and juice and blend thoroughly. Mix in dates.
  • Pour into cool crust and sprinkle with nuts. Bake in slow oven (300°F.) until set, about 1 hour.
