Almost magic—making pie with autumn fruit favorites when lilac s bloom


  • 3 c. sliced peeled apples
  • 2 c. fresh cranberries
  • c. sugar
  • ¼ c. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • tsp. melted butter


  • Combine all ingredients. Arrange in a foil-lined 8" pie pan. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and freeze. Remove frozen filling from pan, wrap, seal, label, date and return to freezer. Recommended storage time: up to 3 months.
  • To make pie, place unwrapped, unthawed filling in pastry-lined 9" pie pan. Top with pastry strip lattice.
  • Bake in hot oven (425°F.) 1 hour and 10 minutes.
