Country cook’s dream come true: this exciting pie ready in freezer



  • Beat egg yolks slightly; combine with sugar, orange peel and juice. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until thickened. Cool.
  • Fold stiffly beaten egg whites and whipped cream into the cooled orange mixture. Pour into crust. Chill.
  • Freeze pie. Remove from freezer, package in moisture-vaporproof wrapping and return to freezer.
  • Let stand at room temperature 10 minutes before serving. Do not thaw completely.
