Ingredients

  • c. sugar
  • ¼ tsp. cream of tartar
  • 4 eggs,

Method

  • Sift together 1 c. sugar and cream of tartar. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form; add sugar mixture gradually and continue beating until very stiff. Spoon in mounds on baking sheet covered with heavy ungreased paper; shape cups (6 to 8) with spoon.
  • Bake in very slow oven (275°F.)
