Tastes like good homemade vanilla ice cream—spoon over 2-crust fruit pies


  • 1 egg
  • 3 tblsp. sugar
  • tsp. salt
  • ¼ c. butter or margarine, melted
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • ¾ c. heavy cream


  • Beat egg with sugar and salt until fluffy and thick. Beat in butter, a small amount at a time, and stir in vanilla.
  • Beat cream until stiff; fold into egg-sugar mixture until all streaks disappear. Chill thoroughly.
