Ingredients

  • ½ c. chopped onion
  • 1 tblsp. shortening
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • tsp. pepper
  • 1 (1 lb.) can green beans (2 c.)
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • 6 frozen potato Snowcaps
  • Melted butter

Method

  • Cook onion in hot shortening until golden; add meat and seasonings; brown. Add drained beans and soup; heat; pour into 1½ qt. casserole.
  • Top with frozen potato Snowcaps; brush with melted butter. Bake in moderate oven (375°F.) 30 minutes, or until Snowcaps are delicately browned.
