Jamu sellers have been championing turmeric’s health-giving properties for generations, long before the West caught on. This tonic is light, refreshing and my favourite start to a day.

Ingredients

Method

Scrub the turmeric and ginger clean (no need to peel) and roughly chop. Blitz to a puree in a high-speed blender with a little water. Scrape into a pan with 750 ml (3 cups) water, bring slowly to the boil
