Ingredients

  • cups dried bean soup mix, or any combination of mixed dried beans
  • 5 cups water
  • 1

Method

  1. Place dried beans in large stockpot. Cover with 5 cups water. Cover pot and bring to a boil. Cook 2 minutes over high heat.
  2. Remove pot from heat and allow to stand, covered, for 1 hour. Return pot to stovetop and cook covered for 2½–3 hours, or until beans are tender.
