Ingredients

  • ¼ cup dry pearl barley
  • 6 cups fat-free, low-sodium meat or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 3–4 cups finely chopped green cabbage
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • ½ tsp. celery salt
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • tsp. black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. minute tapioca

Ideal Slow Cooker Size: 3½–4-Quart

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
  2. Cover. Cook on Low 10–12 hours, or on High 5–6 hours.
