Ingredients

  • 2 ribs celery, sliced
  • 3 carrots, cut in strips
  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • 2 onions, coarsely chopped
  • 2-lb. beef roast
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 Tbsp. liquid smoke
  • cups water

Ideal Slow Cooker Size: 3–4-Quart

Method

  1. Place vegetables in slow cooker.
  2. Place roast on top of vegetables.
  3. Sprinkle with dry soup mix.
  4. Combine liquid smoke and water. Pour over roast.
  5. Cover. Cook on Low 7–8 hours, or until vegetables are tender.
  6. Slice meat and serve with cole slaw and French bread. Lemon pie makes a nice finish.
