Ingredients

  • 2-lb. round steak
  • 4 large potatoes, cubed
  • 2 large carrots, sliced
  • 2 ribs celery, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 quart tomato juice
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. clear jel

Ideal Slow Cooker Size: 4-Quart

Method

  1. Combine meat, potatoes, carrots, celery, and onion in slow cooker.
  2. Combine tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Pour into slow cooker.
  3. Mix together sugar and clear jel. Add to remaining ingredients, stirring well.
  4. Cover. Cook on High 6–7 hours.

Variation

Instead of clear jel, use ¼ cup instant tapioca.
