Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground beef, browned
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • ¼ cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup canned tomato soup
  • 6 potatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup milk

Ideal Slow Cooker Size: 4-Quart

Method

  1. Combined beef, salt, pepper, onions, and soup.
  2. Place a layer of potatoes in bottom of slow cooker. Cover with a portion of the meat mixture. Repeat layers until ingredients are used.
  3. Cover. Cook on Low 4–6 hours. Add milk and cook on High 15–20 minutes.

Variations

  1. Use home-canned spaghetti sauce instead of tomato soup.
  2. Add a layer of chopped raw cabbage after each layer of sliced potatoes to add to the flavor, texture, and nutritional value of the meal.
