Mayonnaise gives this a “schmaltzy” flavor. It’s wonderful topped with lots of fried onions.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500 g) beef or calf liver
  • 3 or 4 medium onions, quarter

Method

Broil liver on both sides. Do not overcook. Cool completely. (May be prepared in advance and refrigerated until needed.) Cut in 1½-inch chunks.
