Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp five-spice powder
  • 2 star anise
  • ½ tsp ground cum

Method

Place all the ingredients in a dry pan and heat gently over a low heat, stirring frequently, until fragrant.

Grind to a fine powder and store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. The spice mixture can be frozen but the flavour dissipates over time.
