Harissa is a North African chile paste that can be made spicy or mild, depending on the ratio of hot peppers to sweet ones. Hakosem’s version lies somewhere in between. Harissa is a wonderful addition to hummus, and can also be used to season many other dishes, such as tuna sandwiches, shakshuka, couscous, stews, salads, and cooked vegetables, as well as meat and fish dishes, such as Moroccan Fish Hakosem.
