In the spring and fall in Cochiti Pueblo, there are still communal rabbit hunts in which women and children join. If a girl beats out a boy running for the same rabbit, the boy must exchange clothes and wear her dress until he kills his own rabbit. If two women claim a rabbit at the same time and argue over the prize, a third may take it by crying like a wolf. Such are the rules of rabbit hunting before the game is brought back to the village for the feast.
