Originally this dish was made with beef in a ‘tas’ (bowl). Here, we replace the more traditional beef with tender veal, and the bowl with a flameproof casserole (unless, of course, you have a flameproof bowl that can go on the stove).

  • 30 g (1 oz) butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped

Melt the butter in a medium flameproof casserole over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté for 5 minutes, or until soft and translucent. Next, add the meat and tomato paste, and continue to cook, stirring, for 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes, garlic, paprika and 250 ml (
