Eastern European desserts have long featured dumplings, dumplings and more dumplings. Serve these cheese-filled treats with sugared berries or compote.

Ingredients

  • 40 g/ oz/3 tbsp unsalted (sweet) butter

Method

  1. Cream the butter and beat in the egg yolks, one at a time. Stir in the curd cheese, semolina and cream. Mix well, cover and stand for 45 minutes.
  2. Whisk the egg whites in a grease-free bowl until stiff, then carefully fold into the curd cheese mixture together with the flour.
