We make the decorations for Christmas trees in our chalets and if there are children staying at the time, they can help. There is something very satisfying about making these and then hanging them for everyone to see. A bit of nibbling and tasting goes on as well! Happy Christmas.

Ingredients

  • 125 g butter
  • 200 g golden syrup
  • 100 g

Method

  1. Line the baking sheets with parchment.
  2. Melt the butter, syrup, sugar and spices together in a saucepan. Stir in the flour and the egg and mix thoroughly.
  3. Turn onto a floured work surface and knead into a dough Divide the dough into two for ease of rolling and roll each piece to about ½
