Spicy White Bean and Red Pepper Dip

  • ½ can (15-oz.) canned white beans, such as navy or butter beans, drained
  • 2 bottled or canned roasted red bell peppers
  • ½ cup finely ground blanched almonds
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • juice of ½ lemon
  • ½ teaspoon dried chili flakes, plus extra for sprinkling
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper


  1. Put all the ingredients in a food processor and whiz until smooth. Have a taste and add any extra seasoning, chili flakes, lemon juice or olive oil, depending on your personal preference.
  2. Spoon into a serving bowl, add a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkling of chili flakes, and serve.
