Sometimes for dinner I just want a big salad and a rich dessert. On those days or on days when I have company during the week, I prepare this chocolate pudding. It’s surprisingly nutritious (as well as delicious) because it’s made from farina.


  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, preferably Droste’s
  • ½ cup sugar

  1. Place the cocoa and sugar in a small saucepan. Add the milk and vanilla and whisk until smooth. Slowly bring the milk to a simmer over low heat, whisking as you heat it.
