Royal Lamprey Pie from the City of Gloucester

The Severn used to be famous for its lampreys, and the City of Gloucester for preparing them. There is still a street there called The Lampreys and a pub called The Lamprey. By long-standing tradition, the city presents to the sovereign on special occasions a lamprey pie.
