  • 1 large ripe orange
  • 1 cup white Puerto Rican 86 proof rum
  • 1 tablespoon

Method

  1. Wash and scrub orange. Peel around in one long, thin slice without breaking. Discard the peeled orange.
  2. In the center of a heat-proof deep dish, arrange the peel to simulate the orange and fill the interior with the sugar.
  3. Pour rum around sugar loaf to form an island.
