I’m really comfortable with bitter flavours. Not everyone is, which is why it is often considered an acquired taste. But I acquired the taste and truly like Angostura bitters, and often use it in cocktails. Bitters works so well with something sweet, like apple juice. Apple juice, especially when it’s crisp and sweet and served ice-cold takes me back to my childhood … to those hot afternoons of too-muchsugar-too-many-ice-cube headaches. This drink is a grownup version of that and creates th
