  • 1 oz whole ancho chiles (about 2 chiles)
  • 2 cups water

Method

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Put the anchos on a small sheet pan and toast in the oven for 3 minutes. Let cool, remove the stems, tear the chiles in half, and drop the halves into a small saucepan.
