A friend gave me this recipe, and I’ve changed it only by adding plenty of pistachio nuts for their uplifting color and taste. Ample and impressive with its fine aroma and delicate, rich crumb, this is a wonderful quick bread to have in your repertoire. If you use candied fruits that you’ve prepared yourself, it will be even better; candied grapefruit is especially good.
