Caponata or Capunatina is the quintessential Sicilian appetizer. Tangy, with sweet and sour tones, it’s perfect on crostini, as an accompaniment to fish, meat, and fowl, and as a delicious relish added to sandwiches. This is the lesser-known winter version that can be gilded with the addition of Saint Bernard Sauce.
