Hot spiced wine is excellent for you when you feel a cold coming on.

Ingredients

  • 3 ¼ cups (750 ml) good red wine
  • 10 lumps light brown sugar

Method

Place the wine, sugar, cinnamon, and clove in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

While the wine is heating up, wash the lemon, dry in a towel, and cut four thin slices from it. Place one slice of lemon in each glass. Squeeze the remaining lemon and add the juice to the pan with the wine. As soon as the wine boils, remove the clove, then pour the wine into the glasses and serve.
