This is a great all-purpose mustard sauce; it can be drizzled on any fried or grilled food for instant flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard, preferably Coleman’s
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • neutral oil

Method

  1. Combine the mustard, sugar, and 1 tablespoon water in a small bowl; whisk to blend thoroughly. Let sit while you proceed with the recipe.
  2. Heat the oil in a deep-fryer or deep saucepan; use a thermometer to make sure the temperature stays between 350° and 375°F. Do not prepare the shrimp until the oil is ready.
