This is definitely a recipe for Christmas or a large gathering, as a baked ham is the easiest way to feed a crowd. It always looks spectacular and, when surrounded by a few simple salads, assorted relishes and mustards and crusty loaves, it oozes generosity. I’ve served it here with a fig and ricotta salad, one of my all-time favourites, but knowing how seasonal figs are, you could also serve it with the tomato and bocconcini salad,
