The cardamom and orange flower water give this creamed rice a wonderfully exotic flavour that works beautifully with any poached or grilled fruit, and it’s a surprisingly light dessert because of the whipped cream. The only problem I have is that if I serve it to less than six people, I’ll eat the leftovers cold for breakfast the following morning, with the somewhat farcical belief that because it’s rice, it is a second cousin to porridge!
