  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate
  • 8 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 8 ounces (2 sticks) sweet butter
  • cups powdered sugar
  • Pinch salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • cup (1 cup minus 2 tablespoons) milk


To make the frosting

Melt the chocolates and the butter over a pot of simmering water. Let the mixture cool to lukewarm.

Sift together the powdered sugar and salt into a large bowl.

Combine the vanilla and the milk.

Whisk the milk into the powdered sugar. Add the melted chocolate mixture and stir until smooth.
